Alan Lumpkin has been serving as Superintendent of the Pearl River County School District since November 2011. Mr. Lumpkin has worked in public education for the past 25 years serving as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Jones International University.

Mr. Lumpkin is very active in serving the community. He serves on the Pearl River Community College Board of Trustees where he served as chairman in 2016 & 2017. He actively works within the community meeting the needs of staff, students, parents and school board members. Mr. Lumpkin has a passion for developing strong leaders and building effective teams within the school district and the community.

Mr. Lumpkin lives in McNeill with his wife, Melissa. He has 4 daughters – Lacy (Husband Tyler Graves), Logan, Brooklyn, and Laken (Deceased). He is also the proud grandfather of Blakleigh Grace, Bayleigh Kate, and Bentley Cole. Mr. Lumpkin and his family are active members of Central Baptist Church in McNeill and he is committed to living his life in a manner that honors his Lord and Savior. He is a servant leader, motivational speaker, dedicated husband and father, and loyal friend who is committed to providing an excellent education opportunity for all families of the Pearl River County School District.
