Mrs. Morrison's Ag-Science visits New Orleans Insectarium
Tuesday, January 31st Mrs. Morrison’s classes went to the
IMAX and Insectarium in New Orleans. The classes are currently
studying Pest Management and were curious about insects around
the world. While at the Insectarium, they saw 2 inch centipedes
that are native to our area, 6 inch Brazilian Cock-roaches that
thankfully, are NOT native to our area, how maggots decompose
dead organisms, alligators and many LARGE spiders.
At Bug Appe’tite , students were treated to such delicacies
as Vanilla Covered Crickets, Southwestern Wax worm Salsa,
Cinnamon Sugar Covered wax worm, Cajun Crickets, BBQ worms
and Baby Scorpions in suckers. All in all it was a very “full”-filling trip!
