Superintendent of Education, Alan Lumpkin
Alan Lumpkin has been serving as superintendent of the Pearl River County School District since November 2011. Mr. Lumpkin has worked in public education for the past 20 years serving as a teacher, coach, and administrator. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Jones International University. Mr. Lumpkin currently serves as a board member for the Gulf Coast Education Initiative Consortium.
Among his various contributions to the community, Mr. Lumpkin is currently serving on the Pearl River Community College Board and is a member of the Pearl River County United Coalition for a drug-free county. He is actively working within the community; meeting the needs of staff, students, parents and board members. Mr. Lumpkin has a passion for developing strong leaders and building effective teams within the school district.
Mr. Lumpkin lives in Carriere with his wife, Melissa, and their three daughters, Lacey, Logan, and Brooklyn. He and his family are active members of Central Baptist Church. Alan is committed to living his life in a manner that honors the Lord and encourages others to do the same. A servant leader, motivational speaker, dedicated father and husband, and loyal friend, Alan Lumpkin is committed to continuing the history of educational excellence in the Pearl River County School District.
